William Gerard "Bill" Daly
William Gerard Daly, 84, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Spanish Oaks Retreat. He was born on Staten Island, June 11, 1927 the youngest of the late Kenneth and Marion Daly's four children. Bill was raised in South Orange NJ and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of business. After 30 years in the insurance industry with Anaconda Copper Co, Frank B Hall and Bailey Martin Faye in NY and NJ, he established Daly Insurance Company in Savannah. In NJ he was a member of Baltusrol Golf Club and Morris County Golf Club. He was a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church and the Landings Club. As a member of the Kawanis Club, teaching golf at Bethesda Home for Boys was one of his favorite activities.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth D. Daly, of Savannah, four sons, Peter K. Daly, of Troy, Michigan, William G. Daly, Jr., wife Camille of Seabrook, New Hampshire, Paul D. Daly, of Citrus Heights, California, and James R. Daly, wife Susan of Rincon, Georgia. He is also survived by one brother, Robert C. Daly, of Woodbridge, Connecticut and seven grandchildren, Katie Johar husband Bobby, James Daly, Jr., Colin Daly, Kristen Daly, Alexandra Daly, Megan Daly, Chelsea Daly and one great-grandchild, Rorri Paugh.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church with The Reverend Jim Giddens officiating.

To all the Daly family, The thoughts and prayers of all the Reilly family are with you. We lost a friend and Great neighbor but God obviously needs some help with his golf game and called him to help. To Peter, Jimmy Chip and Paul, I fondly remember the strong denials that all of you made when the P's came home from a trip and inquired if you had any parties while they were away. Living so close it was not an easy denial, but when all the rest of the 'Jersey Boys', who were there to help clean up, confirmed your denias what was one to do. We we so believable, but we didn't really fool Dad. I am just glad to have had you all in my life and that no siblings got killed. All thebest to all of you - you are in our thoughts & prayers.
